API & SYSTEM INTEGRATION

Connect your website to the way your business works.

Stop moving the same information between tools by hand. Grendigital’s API and system integration services connect websites and business systems around an agreed workflow, so a change can reach the people and platforms that need it.

CONNECTIONS WITH A PURPOSE

What needs to happen after the next update?

Start with a specific event: a customer submits an enquiry, an order changes or a product record is updated. We work through what should follow and which system should be responsible.

CUSTOMER INFORMATION

Website and CRM integration

Carry a website enquiry into the right customer record with the details your team needs. Agree how to identify an existing contact and where the follow-up should be assigned.

WEBSITE CONTENT & RECORDS

Catalogue and operational data

Keep relevant website information aligned with its source system. Decide which fields can change, how often updates should run and what to do with incomplete or conflicting records.

BETWEEN YOUR TOOLS

Connected business systems

Link a defined process across the platforms you rely on. That could mean passing a supported event to another service or making selected information available to an operational workspace.

HOW WE CONNECT SYSTEMS

Understand the record before moving the data.

We map what the information means and how a successful update should behave in the receiving system. That gives the connection a clear job and a result your team can check.

  1. Map the current handover

Identify the starting event and the information that needs to move. Agree which system owns each record and what staff currently check when handling it.

  2. Confirm the supported access

Review available APIs or existing connectors, documentation and account limits. Check the required permissions and access to a suitable testing environment.

  3. Build the connection

Map the agreed fields and develop the transfer logic. Include validation, a way to identify repeated events and a controlled response to unsuccessful updates.

  4. Test and hand over

Check normal updates and realistic exceptions together. Agree how the integration will be monitored and who will respond if a connected platform changes.

THE DESIGN DECISIONS

Make the connection understandable to the people running it.

An integration should leave a clear trail when work completes or needs attention. We build the scope around the operational result and the consequences of an incorrect update.

Direction and timing

One-way updates and two-way synchronisation have different implications. Agree where a change begins, how quickly it needs to arrive and what happens when both systems hold different values.

Record matching

A contact name is rarely enough to identify a record reliably. Decide which identifiers link the systems and how to handle missing matches before records are created or overwritten.

Retries without duplicate work

A service may accept an update before a response is lost. Plan how the integration checks what happened and retries safely, so recovery does not create duplicate records or repeated actions.

Access and visibility

Give the connection the permissions it needs and protect its credentials. Agree what is recorded in logs, where failures are surfaced and who can investigate them.

SCOPING THE CONNECTION

What affects integration effort?

The two platform names are a starting point. The available interfaces and the behaviour you need determine the actual work.

Platform support

Some account plans restrict API access or the events they expose. We check the supported options before selecting an approach and committing to a scope.

Data condition

Inconsistent identifiers or missing fields can make a connection unreliable. A cleanup or migration may be needed before ongoing updates can run usefully.

Volume and update frequency

A nightly catalogue update differs from an order event that needs prompt attention. Expected volume and platform limits affect scheduling and recovery.

The existing connection

If an integration is already failing, bring examples and any documentation. We assess whether it can be corrected or needs a different design before recommending further work.

CONNECTED WORK IN PRACTICE

Information moving through real businesses.

Our work includes an operational platform for Grendesign and catalogue integration for a bookshop. The details differ, but both start with information people need to use.

BUSINESS SYSTEMS

Grenconnect

Grendesign uses this internal platform to connect customer and project information with recurring work and service records. Its customer portal is being piloted with selected customers.

YOUR NEXT CONNECTION

Start with one handover

Show us the update your team repeats and where it needs to arrive. We can check what each platform supports and define a practical connection.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Before we connect your systems.

We confirm feasibility around the particular accounts and records involved. The same platform can offer different access on different plans.

Do we need a custom app as well?

A supported connection between existing systems may be enough. A separate interface becomes useful when staff or customers need a new place to complete a task. Our business apps and portals service covers that additional scope.

Can you use an existing connector?

We assess an available connector against the required fields and update behaviour. It can be a sensible option when it supports the process properly. Custom integration work may be needed where those supported capabilities leave a gap.

What if one platform changes its API?

A connected service can change access rules or retire an interface. Agree maintenance responsibilities and a way to identify failures before launch. Future changes may require testing and development beyond the original delivery scope.
